Cape Town Pride has announced that next year’s Pride festival will be happening from 5th to 28th February.
The annual Cape Town Pride Parade and Mardi Gras will be on Saturday 27th February. As has been the case for the last few years the Parade will begin in Alfred St in De Waterkant and march to the Green Point Track, the venue of the Pride Mardi Gras.
Next year’s theme is Loud in Every Colour – Every flag. Every letter. Every one of us, LOUD.”
Cape Town Pride’s Brand Ambassador, Nkosinathi Sangweni says:
“This theme deliberately names the whole spectrum, not just the rainbow flag but the trans, bi, intersex, and ace flags too, so nobody in the community thinks it is not about them.”
Cape Town Pride CEO Tommy Patterson says:
“We should not be intimidated by attacks on our rights coming from some quarters. We are going to be LOUD and Proud in 2027 in the lead up to WorldPride in 2028. We are only going to get louder!”
As always, the three weeklong Pride Festival features a string of various events to cater to the tastes of our diverse community, including Book Readings, Film Screenings, Workshops, Mountain Hikes, Drag Queen shows, Quiz Nights, Comedy shows, Pride Karaoke, queer dating show, queer surfing, queer yoga, queer birdwatching, just to mention a few.
Tickets for Pride Mardi Gras will go on sale at the end of November.
